New member here and my first post .
Owned a Cayman for 3 years , bought new back in 07. I think I'm ready for Cayman S . Looking to get 08-10 Cayman S and my question is, if it is possible to put paddle shifters in 08-10 Cayman S vehicles ( providing it has tiptronic auto transmission. ( also , cost involved ) Recently spent three weeks in Europe driving my friend's 458 Italia and fell in love with manual paddle shifters. Can anyone advise please ???
Thank you in advance.

Paddle shifters are available for cars with the PDK transmission. 2009 and later.

I have heard of people adapting them to work with tiptronic as well.
Tech Art may have a paddle wheel too.

If u want paddles (like 458) stay away from PDK cars with multi function wheel (90% of PDK cars have this option) as they do not work like the paddles offered on Sport Wheel (2011 and newer cars)!
Buttons suck vs the newer paddles as far as I am concerned. So much so that I traded my 997 for 14 Cayman w paddles.

Yes, you can put the paddle shift steering wheel in any PDK car. No matter what steering wheel it came with.
I would stick with '09 or newer. With the Cayman S that gives you the DFI engine. And PDK which is orders of magnitude better than tiptronic.

I have PDK with paddle shifters on my 2011, with the plain wheel-no buttons.
Paddles are brilliant, so much better than the rocking buttons and much more intuitive for me. The PDK shifting is totally amazing, always seems to anticipate what gear you need-so the paddles just add to the fun quotient and in my case probably not adding to the speed.
