Default How rare is 6spd/sport bucket/PSE combo?

I've only just started my search for a spyder in the past week so I'm in no way getting impatient, but I'm starting to wonder how rare the combination of manual, sport bucket seats, and sports exhaust is. I've found a couple cars with one or two of these features, but nothing has had it all yet. I just want to make sure there's more than like 5 cars out there that fit what I want before I pass up a bunch of great cars that are just missing something.

You can add a more aggressive exhaust easily... Manual + sport seats are the deal!

They do exist although certainly not as common.

When Spyders were still selling new I could find them with the combo your looking for. I couldn't however find very many with the combo plus full leather.

Be patient and good luck with your search.

Agree. You can add PSE or another exhaust. Buckets and manual are mandatory!

Don't understand your question. Sounds like a great build.

Sports chrono is fine, not necessary though. I have it in my car.

Cool, thanks for the advice!

There is one car out there that I've found that would qualify. Not my color choice but I'm not going to be picky on that. I've only done a little used car shopping an no buying... How does this carfax report look to you? From what I read it got test driven for 200 miles and took nearly a year to sell at the dealer, finally got bought, then it got a flat tire which was replaced and after 1000 miles of ownership it got traded in. Any red flags here?

I've read ... Not so good things about the place where it's for sale.
<long history removed... Car is sold to someone else so why take up space>

I'm thinking the biggest problem with this car really is that it's black on black with alcantara... Probably gets very hot in the summer.

The alcantara stays cool to the touch... The black leather , not so much.

Hmm, yeah after looking into some more I guess you're right. Just got my wife a TT and it came with alcantara and the couple comments I saw were that most people say it wears well, a few say it doesn't, and a couple people said it retained heat. After reading up on it some more people seem to say it keeps a really neutral temp - not hot in the summer, not cold in the winter, and that it breathes.

I like leather in my Miata because I can wipe my sweat off it easily... But it sounds like alcantara's pretty similar to clean. Cool. Well, maybe I'll pursue this one. Thanks!

I just did a 3.5 hour road trip (each way) over the weekend in the Spyder. Outside Temperatures going out ranged from 94 - 101. With the bikini top only and windows up you are more than comfortable and it doesn't get hot in the cabin. The top came off when the temperatures dropped below 95 and yes it was a bit hot but not uncomfortable.

For reference my car is Basalt with Black full leather.

There's a rennlister that has an MT/Sport Bucket in Silver, have you already contacted him?

The carfax looked fine to me, nothing out of the ordinary. Regardless, with any used car I would perform a visual inspection if you're picky about the cosmetics. Black is a tough color to keep so if it wasn't cosmetically maintained it will be obvious.

Based on my observations the inventory for these cars will be higher over the winter and they start selling in spring/summer. By late summer the inventory is usually very low.

Another option is if you see a car you like on the forums or know the seller, then maybe you can email them and see if they are willing to sell. You might have to pay a slight premium or pry it out of their hands if they aren't looking to sell, but anything is possible.

Good call. But the premium would be very steep from me I love my Spyder!

If you want a F10 M5 though, I'll make you a sweet deal

Agreed. Unless you're against Arctic Silver, buy Alan Smithee's car. Please. Before I'm tempted to..

BTW, POTML is "my" dealer. Best so far and I've been to many Porsche dealers. Known for great service though I have not purchased a Porsche from them I must admit.
