The PO of my 987 apparently used to carpool with Edward Scissorhands. The leather looks great, but most of the interior has scratches, nicks, and worn spots on the uber fragile painted interior surfaces.

Id there a DIY here that details the proper procedure & recommended products for painted-surface interior restoration?

 

If you can post a couple of pix of the problem areas. If it's the trim, you can wrap it like i did...

 

It's all the hard plastic trim pieces in the car - like the door panel cubby trim pieces and all the other bits that have the soft paint on them .

I didn't consider a wrap. I might give that a shot if I can find the proper shade of grey.

All of the plastic that has the "soft touch" paint applied, usually flat black, is a pain to work with. It doesnt sand well or react to chemicals very well. But its not impossible to work with. To get down to the plastic, a lot of folks have used steel wool and then sanded and repainted.

I have access to pro-grade Marhyde. I think I'll grab some steel wool and give that a shot first.
