Jack for Jack Point Stands
Does any one know what jacks work with the Jack Point Stands? I am thinking about getting a set or 2 of JP jack stands. I have read that the Harbor Freight Jacks are actually decent and there is a store fairly close to me. Maybe a Craftsman jack would also work as there are also Sears stores near by. Ideally the jack would be very low profile and lift to maybe 18 to 20 inches, be short, as my garage is very narrow and be reasonable light. I would like to get the JP stands with the tallest pad or pad combinations to get the most height out of the stands as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it was the 1.5 ton compact racing jack. It was $69 with a coupon. With the tallest pads you won't be able to get the jack and pad underneath the car in one shot but it isn't really a problem. Just jack from the other jack point on the same side of the car without the pad and just slide the Jackpoint jack stand with the pad where you need it. Jackpoint jack stands and the electric impact wrench has been the most useful tools that I have purchased thus far.

Just bought the 2 ton aluminum racing jack tonight at Harbor Freight. It looks decent, is fairly light, and has good lift range, hopefully it will hold up for a while. Waiting for Jack point stands to arrive, after having a long talk with John Walton today, seems like a helluva good guy.

I have a 1/2 inch drive 18v Milwaukee. It seems to have more power than most of the cordless impact wrenches that I see in the paddock. Incidentally, my perception was that Snap-on is overpriced but got to try a friend's cordless impact wrench and all I can say is "wow". It feels incredibly refined which is a really odd thing to say about an impact wrench. I won't splurge for one but I can definitely see why others do.
