Default Cayman race car

Hello Cayman Fans,

I normally live on the 996TT forum, but am starting to think about my next track car. I bought the 996tt before I started tracking and while it is a great and powerful car (563 AWHP) it really isn't the best platform for building a track dedicated machine.

I have been kicking around the idea of a 996/7 Cup or GT3, but recently saw a few very fast Cayman's at the track that had been converted to full on track machines. This peaked my interest in the Cayman platform because a.) I think it may be less expensive, b.) starting with a mid-engined machine seems to make sense to me.

My thought is that instead of buying a street car and converting it, I would prefer to buy one that is well set up as a dedicated track car. Perhaps an interseries car.

Can you all give me some general advice in what to look for/look out for and where to look for a dedicated well sorted track Cayman?

Thanks in advance
