Question Late MY2005-2006 987 M96/M97 (w/ Bigger Bearing/Cradle) IMS Reality

I realize that we tend to only see the negative - blow-up stories on the internet so I seek some good advice from those with some solid footing of real experience. Just how prevalent is the IMS bearing failure among Porsche's later, beefier IMS designed motors?

05 S, with a VIN that barely misses the class action suit which I assume means it have the "beefier" IMS. It died a few days abo with 16k miles on it.

My exact experience... late MY-05... beefier IMS bearing/cradle. IMS failure. Seemingly outside of the class action suit. With bigger bearing, the $2,000 LN Engineering retrofit solution is out... only course, split engine for $20k.
