Does aftermarket air filter change sound of car?

You weren't kidding! Took 1.5hrs to install the K&N this weekend. Process couldn't be easier or more straightforward, but trying to get the filter on the intake was a major PITA.

If over-oiled, yes it can lead to a new MAF.

Exactly! The American tendency that if a little is good more is even better is a bad paradigm to use when re-oiling any of these filters. It doesn't need to be marinated like teriyaki steak, a light dusting is perfect, less is more. If you like to overdo, save that impulse for soaking rusted hardware with penetrant.

If you click on this link and scroll to the bottom, 3rd product from the bottom is the BMC replacement filter for the stock airbox. 4th product from the bottom is the V-Flow intake, and 5th from the bottom is our Grand Am intake.
