Default Boxster S hight speed corner stability issues.

Just ready this on EVO Magazine about a Porsche Boxster S long term review:
"The biggest surprise dynamically was a touch of nervousness from the Boxster at 100mph+ speeds - especially on long sweepers - a trait exacerbated by dropping the hood"

Thatīs exactly what i feel on my S 05 car. I checked the alignment twice and the rear tyres are new (the front are "half"). This is very scary behaviour!
I friend of mine that owns a 996 4s said taht felt something similar and this was the PCM "working" because" of diffrenet wear of the tyres.

Any one with the same problem?

What tires are on your car?

Who is checking your alignment and can you provide the alignment specs vs what your car is set for?

My Spyder is very steady at high speeds FWIW.

Tire pressures?

How many miles on the front? On the rears? Are the rears scrubbed in?

Marine,

I checked the alignment in two diffrent places and on last one i saw them doing the work. I could notice that everything was acvcordingly the setup for BOXSTER S (987), 18 wheels, PASM ...etc.
The values were OK.

What does "half" mean? Tire wear is NOT linear. A new PS2 is about 9/32. Maybe you can measure. What are the front tire DOT code dates?

You should have replaces all 4 tires, at the same time, with Super Sports, IMO.

I wonder if a front strut tower brace will help you a little, too.

You need one of these:

Iīll try to explain (My english is not so good...).On speeds above 100mph when i try to make a little movement on the steering for a very long corner, itīs very hard..itīs like suddently you have applied a stronger movement ....
I have a BMW 3 coupe (2008) and i can describe the same corner win a total relaxing way at same speed....

Iīll measure and post here. I īm thinking seriously to replace also the front tires but when i read that review on EVO (online) long term test (check 3rd paragraph)

Regardless, if you are going to drive at high speeds, in excess of 100 MPH (I hope you are on a track) in sweeping turns, you need to have matched tires of a very similar age.

Probably iīll try changing the tires. This isnīt the kind of beahvior you are expecting from a high performamce car....
I have owned 2 BMW M3 and never felt anything like this....

I've had my 07S at speeds well over 100 MPH on long sweeping curves on the track and my car felt absolutely solid, PSM disabled. I have to believe that the handling problems can be attributed to tires.

Not an issue with our 2000 & 2001 (986) Boxster Ss, either.
