What will 2013 Boxster do to pre-owned pricing and inventory this summer?
I'm ready to buy my first Porsche and I want a Boxster.
I'm looking for a 2009-2012 Boxster S, PDK in Ruby Red, Racing Green, or Aqua Blue. There are so few of these that I'm having a hard time getting a sense of a fair price.
My questions are:
What should I expect to pay for a modestly optioned 2009-2011?
And most importantly, how will pre-owned prices and inventory change once the 2013s start showing up? Should I hold off until late summer/fall?

I agree...the 987.2 boxsters have held there value amazing well so far and the pdk models seem to be in extra demand. With the new car coming out, we will start to see accelerated depreciation of the 987.2. How long before the prices drop is hard to say and you have to factor in the lost enjoyment time while you wait. The 987 is a great sports so you can go wrong buying it now or later.

Thank you for the advice.
I budgeted around $55K and yes, I want the car this summer so I'll trade dollars for time.
Anyone think I'll be able to land a 2011 or 2012 Boxster S with PDK for that much?

For a used low mileage 2011, $55K is possible later in the year but I'm not certain about the summer. My local dealer tod me that the earliest that I could expect to receive a custom ordered Boxster would be September. For a new 2011 Boxster S equipped the way you describe, $55K would be unrealistic since that price would be considerably below their costs. It's rare that Porsche helps their dealers move older cars with manufacure to dealer incentives.
