Default Draft Brake Rotor replacement DIY

Fellow Boxster owners,

I just wrote a DIY draft on replacing brake rotors on the 987.

I welcome readers of the draft to give me their comments on my words.
(Send me a PM)

After it's all fixed up, I'll create a DIY document on rennlist.

You can see it at:

Have you come across the caliper limit specs for the rotor's, applicable for the 05, 987s? Thanks for the DIY link.

On a related note, I recently came across this write-up for replacing brake pads as I was/am looking to replace both my front pads and rotors:

I ordered the parts from Suncoast: $267 for front rotors and $116 for pads. Thanks for the write-up, this will help complete my project!

Excellent article cited above, except for (IMO) one quibble:

I say do NOT open the bleed valve to compress the pistons. Rather, insert the old pad sideways and use it as a gentle lever to compress the pistons. (opening the bleed valve gives a chance of problems -- dirt, air.)
