Default GT3 Euro Seat Install and connectors

Installed a pair of GT3 Euro seats in my 2008 Cayman S. Install went well and the seats look great. I need some input as to what is going on with the connectors though. The original seat connectors are yellow and actually have a BMW part number as strange as that may be. The connectors on the seats I installed are not compatable at all with those currently in the car. Upon completion I restarted the car and reset the PSM which was effortless. No seat belt buzzer was present at all which is great. The airbag light is on and needs to be reset to get rid of the airbag warning light which will be done when I have some suspension work done in the next two weeks. My question is, is there any downside to not having the seat wiring connected to the car wiring. Will it affect airbag opereration of the remaining airbags, or is the connector strictly for the seat belt chime? Are there any other safety issues that I may be overlooking?

I'm not sure resetting the SRS light is going to take care of the problem. Those airbags are inventoried by the SRS computer and if any are missing (or not connected) I'm fairly confident it will continue to generate a SRS fault. Those Euro seats don't have airbags, do they? Can you remove the SRS bulb? I pulled power to the entire SRS brain on my 1990 E30 M3 and that fixed the SRS alert forever.

Thanks. No airbags in the GT3 Euro seats but the original sets do have airbags. Good suggestion, will speak with my mechanic, since I think we can bypass only the seat airbags which should take care of the dummy light

Sweet. Whether the Dealer would, legally, is another question. A lot of potential liability changing those few bytes. You might have better luck accomplishing something like this at an independent shop.
