Default Front strut part numbers issue.

So I got some used front struts for my Koni insert project and they both have a nice clean label 987 343 031 15. But when I look on the Automobile Atlanta online parts diagram I see 987 343 047 02. Which is correct for first gen. Cayman S? I did confirm the correct spring color codes however.

the 987 343 047 02 is a shock absorber for the 2006-2008 non PASM cayman and has a successor part 987 343 047 03.

the 987 343 031 15 is not in the PET.

I ran the 031 15 number on Pelican and Gaudin Porsche parts searches, and it doesn't display any Porsche part corresponding to that number. The other number (047 02) does come up as the front strut damper for Gen 1 Cayman.
Did you buy your used struts on ebay by any chance?

Those were not purchased on eBay. From a trusted source. I did find the 987 343 047 02 stamped into the bottom of the strut tube. Perhaps the paper label is from a used parts vendor selling the strut complete assembly. Anyway, it looks like the correct part.
