Default 05 Boxster S. CDR-24 No Radio Code?

I picked up a 2005 Boxster S from a dealership.
Radio says "Porsche, Protect"
Does not ask for a code.
I press and hold "TP" and nothing happens.
I have the serial number of the radio.

I just read from one link that CDR-24s can't use a radio code and that:
CDR-23 (or later):
These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters.
These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. The radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS. These radios will not request a code when battery power is disconnected.
So I have to bring it to Porsche for them to unlock my radio?
Does anyone know how long this would take?

Anything?
I'm surprised at how little info there is on the CDR-24. I assumed more people would have it.

I have an 05 Boxster with the CDR-24. I asked the dealer when I bought the car if it had a security code, and they said it doesn't. I accidentally disconnected the battery installing a battery tender and the radio did not work. There was no message - just no radio. Other posts suggest turning the key to on (but not to start) a couple of times to allow the computer to interface with the radio. I did this and it came back. I don't know if the "Porsche Protect" means that the radio is not original to the car, which likely means taking it to the dealer to have it set to the computer. It wouldn't take long to do but would require connecting to PIWIS.
