Porsche Dealer is discouraging me from installing Dension 500
The technician indicated that when you introduce a new device into fiber optic loop of the audio system, you are opening up yourself to problems since each device sends signals across the network.
I have a 2008 Cayman with a CDR24 head unit and would like to integrate my Iphone into the stereo.
Anyone have issues with electrical or stereo after such integrations?
thanks

I installed my Dension Gateway 500 myself in my '06 CS three years ago, and haven't had any problems at all. The "hardest" part was convincing the dealer to activate the CD Changer via PIWIS, even though it wasn't installed (they finally did it, but expected me to come back soon to turn it off).
I tapped power from the switched 12V wire on the back of the radio. Make sure you connect the fiber optic cables correctly, or it won't work (the instruction will show which port goes where, but it isn't marked on the unit).
