I'm about to order my Boxster S

Sports Bucket seats
LSD
PASM
Sport Chrono Plus (6-speed, not PDK)

PCM

This will be DD plus track car.

COMMENTS ANYONE, EVERYONE?

Also, how do I fasten the shoulder belts to the car? I don't want to drill into the frame.

Will you fit below the "broomstick" test many clubs/tracks now require of convertible cars?

If so, fire away! You failed to mention color combo.. and i don't think the Sport Buckets come with HEAT... which may be a drawback for someone in cooler climates who wants to run with the roof down.

And again, while I don't have a pic (but offered a link in a previous post).. but located at the base of the factory rollbar loops is a HORIZONTAL bar.. the shoulder straps can be attached to this bar.

I have the Sport Chrono on one of my P Cars (C2S Cab) but I wouldn't order it on a car. I NEVER use it. But if you're going to use it, then it makes sense.

Good luck with your order. Hope you don't have to wait too long!

Re Broomstick test --

I plan to get the Brey Krause extender hoops -- that's what everyone seems to use, and they fit under the convertible top.

BTW, while the GT2 buckets are attractive... (I would love to find 5 or 6k under my seat cushion to buy a pair myself)... they are pricey. You may want to consider going with aftermarket seats and save some money. E.g., the 996-based GT3 seats are popular amongst trackies. They can be had for a fraction of the GT2 bucket cost.

Of course, the options depends on what you value in style, airbag, etc vs. aftermarket unit.

FYI -- the Sports Bucket Seats are a $2990 add-on.

This sure seems like a good value to me. I remember paying $3K for the aftermarket GT3 seats in my '04 GT3. Plus installation, aggravation, etc.

All,

I've pulled the trigger and ordered

Boxster S
LSD
Sport Bucket Seats
PASM
Sport Chrono + (Maybe un-necessary but seems like fun)

So now I have to bite my nails and wait until May sometime.

Congrats on the purchase! Looks like you settled on a really nice set of options.

What color?

Macadamia Brown with Gray interior.

I've had a silver '98 Boxster and a green '00 Boxster S, so I thought I'd try something new for the exterior.
I would have preferred the tan interior but the wife correctly pointed out that it woul dshgow the dirt. I didn't want black -- too serious, so I chose the gray.

You didn't really order that combo, did you? Macadamia Brown is an acquired taste on its own (not bad per se, but not a popular choice). Combining brown exterior with a Gray interior = you may never find someone else to sell it to when you're tired of it. Just my .02 - no offense intended.

well, maybe OOPS, but that's what I ordered.

I'm really not worried about resale. I keep my cars a good while.
More importantly, I hope it is an attractive combination.
