Default Anyone using only the center wind deflector?

My 2008 Boxster doesn't have a wind deflector and the seats seem to fill the rollbar openings so much that I wonder if I should get only the center clear wind deflector and skip the two roll bar baskets. Anyone have experience with using only the center piece? I did a search and found someone mentioning a whistling sound from the baskets and a few mentioned rattles from them that they solved with some velcro. I would appreciate any suggestions on the subject. Thanks

I use the entire wind deflector (center piece and "baskets) and I have not experienced any whistling or rattling. I suppose someone could always end up with poorly fitting pieces or something.

So far I'm happy with the complete system, but you can always start with the center piece and add the baskets if you need to later. Good luck.

No issues here with the entire system. I get a little rattling, but nothing to be overly concern about.

I think dealer only sells the set. Once a while you find the screens on ebay. Just make sure they are fitted for the 987, not the 986's.

I can't really tell the difference between wind deflectors/no wind deflectors, theres still a lot of wind, so I just leave mine off so they won't get stolen if I park the car with the top down. They are very expensive.

Now the wind deflectors on 996 Cabs, really work.

Mine is 2006 boxster 987.1. After 16 years of owning the car, the wind deflector rattles a lot. I ordered new clips on the roller and at the center (total 3 clips from ECS tuning website). I installed them and didn't hear any rattle noise anymore but still have trouble holding the center acrylics wind breaker. I guess I didn't installed correct and will retry soon.
