2010 cayman s
i have made the jump:
traded my 2005 997 for a black/black 2010 s......
options:
bose
bi zenon
power/heated seats
ipod interface
19 inch wheels
something else I dont remember now...
currently have 237 miles on it and am very pleased with the swap....my 977 had pss9s, short shift, but the ride was a little to firm for the street. the new car shifts great, engine seems tight right now (had it up to 5,500 rpm), but once it breaks in it will be a blast. i have been thinking about this swap for a year and finally did it......drove an 07 cayman s but the power was off compared to my 997 so I drove a 2010 and the decision was easy...wil lpost pictures next week as i am currently out of town....looking forward to the cayman experience!!

Interesting.
You chose to go from a 997 to a Cayman S.
I have a 2006 997 C2 as a daily driver, and I like all cars, and I'm always open to change (car change, that is).
You like the Cayman S more than the 997?
How's the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness), engine heat in cockpit, power-feeling (oomph) of car vs. 997?
I just figured I'd replace the 997 with a newer 99x, but...

yes, some people would think i am "downgrading".....imo the car is much better than the 997 i replaced....my 997 had stiff shocks and rode rather rough.....this car is fantastic. the 2009 and up cayman s have as much hp as a 05/07 997.....i see no difference and I thought my 997 had good pull.
nvh...cayman s is better....no engine heat in cockpit that i notice, power is great, set up/balance is how a sports car should be....i dont ever see going back to the rear engine platform....i would suggest you to drive one (2009-up) due to the more power in those years......you may be a convert unless you need the back seats.....

Agree. Had a 01 Boxster S which I x-crossed and DE'd. Then a much modded 05 C2S which dynoned around 417 CHP. Now a 010 Cayman S. The 997 still could not match the handling of the mid engine 986-987. The mid engine P car is the future. This car(987) needs around 400+ hp and it will clean up. How about a 987TT with 500+ Hp?
