New 09 Cayman - Thoughts?
Took a drive down the Porsche dealer today in anticipation of my next buy. Fell in love with a silver Cayman in the lot, though it is a new 2009 with 20 miles on it. Sorry i do not have a list of the features, though pretty basic with "S" wheels. The sticker was $55k though they are asking $49.6K.
There is no special offer or financing (1.9%) like on the 2010, so a 5yr loan would be at banking rates. I need to do the math on this, though what do you guys think about 2009 vs. 2010; Cayman vs. Caymen S... and is a $5K discount a deal or not?

A 2009 is over 1 year old and will be 2 years old as soon as the 2011 models hit the showrooms in a month or two, so $5K off is not that good imho.
A year ago last April I bought an 08 Cayman S new for $12K off sticker. Now a year is a long time in the car business but still $5K off a nearly 2 year old car?
Get on www.autotrader.com and www.cars.com and punch in the info to search on cars for sale and see what 2009/2010 Caymans you can find and see what other dealers around are asking for these cars.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Kevin: That was also about my discount last year on my 09 CS. I did have the impression then and now, however, that Porsche is diverting product out of and away from the problematic occidental (setting) markets and transferring it into oriental (rising) economies.
