Default Transmission Problem??? 07 cayman S

Guys i drove my freinds Cayman S today, in 4th 5th and 6th gear when your sort of coasting along downhill if you give it some throttle it feels as though there is a little play in the tranny then all of a sudden it grabs and starts to accelerate, you can feel like a clunking on and off the throttle momentarily. The car only has 24000 miles. Its kind of hard to explain but to me feels like a little play. Is this normal has anyone else felt this????

thanks
JERRY

i think most manuals have that bit of gear back lash that can be made worse by on/off gas but grabbing ? that sounds like too much play...i think a visit to a po dealer is in your future

What about the clutch?

Do the RPMs surge without the car accelerating?

No clutch is good....we talked about that and it seems fine. I Hardly know anything about Caymans, is a little play in the drive train normal. It really doesnt feel like anything major but like i said you feel a little clunk everytime you give it gas and let off gas when its coasting mostly above 60 mph.

I've noticed this also with my '06 Cayman S. It doesn't happen all the time, but it definitely doesn't feel good. It's like something is loose in the drive train.

I just developed this issue (well I guess it was there slightly before but now it has gotten worse) - 2006 Cayman S, 90k miles.

Did you all find a fix for this?

Thanks,
Danny

Visual inspection of the motor mounts and drive axels.

I.d change the trans oil if you haven.t or don.t know the maintenance history of the car.
