Track Experience?!
Dear All,
Got my Porsche Boxster few month ago. It's now only 4900KM on the car but tomorrow there will be one open track event. May i ask you expert whether I can go there will my Porsche which has less than 6000KM on it? I believed that the breaking-in period was completed after 3000KM but heard that the transmission may take more time for that breaking-in period? Will I harm my car if I enjoy the track, of coz' with my new car, for 20 mins? Otherwise, I will have to drive the car that the track provides.
Thanks guys!

Sorry this is a bit late, but I've had 2 new Porsches and would take neither on the track until I had completed the break in period. Once complete, then I changed the oil and filter, upgraded brake fluid to Castrol SRF, and had the alignment done (last new 09 C2S I had Cup control arms put on for camber - with stock all you can get is about 8/10ths of 1%).

As usual, ron has good advice. Track driving is very hard on a car - even 3 or 4 20 minute sessions. You will be at full throttle for more than 50% of that time. You will shift hard at full throttle. You might bang the rev-limiter a few times. I know its hard but why not wait a few months until the car is fully broken in?
