What tires came stock on the Cayman S - 2006?
I think bridgestones, but just want to check. Mine has different brand on front and back - wondering what came on them. I have the carrera classic 19 inch rims, if that helps
Thanks

I think most of the '06s came with Michelin PS2s, apparently because Bridgestone and Pirelli were a little late getting their tires for the Cayman S up to PAG specs. At least that's what we were told at the 2005 Parade.
Old Porsche wisdom is to not mix tire brands unless you really know what you're doing; i.e., how the mix will change the handling characteristics.

FT: Well, they're probably so hard by now that they won't ever wear out. I guess it helps longevity to also drive on other wheels/tires. I just had my OEM PS2s replaced at 25k miles (VIN...1101) and they'd been hard and slippery for at least a year. I probably had driven only about 15k miles on them, however.

You may be right, but they still handle quite well, I only have about 8K mi. on the track set. I need new track tires, so I am going to keep using the Bridgets until 2010 fall, then I'll change them.
