bought the car ! have question abought keys
2006 boxster base
1. not sure how the keys should work. we have this stupid security system requirement in canada. one key does not work, more correctly the remote lock/unlock and hood/trunk release do not work, but once the car is unlocked it will start the car and no alarms go off . if i manually unlock the door, when i open the door the alarm goes off
my previous vehicle is a vw, and when the door lock or unlock the lights flash and the alarm beeps, what is normal with a porsche?, sometimes i get a flash and sometimes i get a beep...
can this be resolved without going to the stealer? (closest one is 350mi away)

replace battery?
have nto tried to replace battery, as the red led does light up when a button is pressed,
but you are right, that should be a first step, will try it. this would not affect the good key if i just swapped the batteries ?

I don't know about the key that does not work. Is it a quirement in Canada that only 1 remote can work?
Anyway, with Porsche, the lights blink twice when you lock it remotely, and once when you unlock it. Lock/unlock uses the same button, just cycles it, which to me is a PITA. Anyway, if you inadvertently unlock it, it will lock again in a few seconds so long as you do not open the drivers door. So if I'm not usre I locked it or not, I just hit the dam button again.
If you lock the car remotely and something is open, like the console lid, the horn beeps once. If you hit the remote button twice in rapid succession, you lock the car without turning the motion sensors on, and the car will also beep.
Oh, BTW, RTFM!
And, where's the pics????
Ooops. Just saw the one. What, just one????
