Escort 8500 Hard Wire install .... ??
I have several 8500s that I run on my cars/truck. I like them to be hard wired if that can be done.
Presently, I have the 8500 on my Boxster suckered to the windscreen and the coiled cord traipsed back to the center console. Sucks like this.
How do you folks have your detectors hard wired and where are they placed.

Get a straight wire from radio shack and cut the end that goes to the cig lighter. Split wire one side to acc power (in line fused) the other to ground. Route the wires anywhere you can hide them and get them under the dash
