Default Performance Oil Separator

I asked about this on the 996 forum but couldn't find anyone who'd actually made the switch. I'm considering buying the high performance oil separator (996 107 926 00) to eliminate the smoke-on-start-up issue I experience at the track and wanted to hear from someone who had done this upgrade on their car. Does it truly eliminate the smoke? I assume track use oil consumption goes down as well - is that correct? Finally, are there any other parts required or can I just order this part to complete the swap?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, didn't know such a forum existed. You're right - they're some good info on there about this topic.

Your welcome! The Porsche Motorsport Separater seems to be the way to go. Hopefully your 996 offers easier access to install vs. the 987.

Default Motorsport VOS

I did this install in a 987 track car and it eliminated the smoke and the oil usage.
This is a major project., 10 hours or more install. On a 996, you likely need to drop the engine, to do it.

You can find my article on the caymanclub.net website and a lot of discussion as stated above.
