Default 2009 Cayman?

Anyone heard that Porsche will not be releasing a 2009 Cayman but instead will be releasing a 2010 version end of Q1 - Q2 next year???

Car and Driver (page 52, June issue) calls the next Cayman a 2009, but claims that production won't start until February '09, with sales soon thereafter. Similarly, sales of the 2009 911 should start in March or April of '09. While that would be a later than normal launch for the '09 models, it would also be an unusually early launch for the '10 models. My guess is that they will be called '09s.

According to C&D, they all get DFI, 15 more hp, subtle styling changes, and price boosts.

Test drove a 2008 today. My dealer said Porsche isn't delivering many more (from now) new P-cars to the US this year due to the slowing economy and effects of exchange rate. I can see the two issues, but really just seems like they are probably trying to weed out inventory. Have you guys heard anything like this?

Yes - a soft market continues to impact Porsche sales in the US.

The company previously announced a 25% planned reduction of the number of cars that will be shipped here this fiscal year....
