This is a cross post from the racing sight. Thought some of the mid engine guys would appreciate my Boxster S racecar. 3.4 w/ custom Motec engine management system and dash. Boxster weighs in at 2530 lbs with 7 gallons of fuel on Daytona's official scales.

Hey Ray S, this guy, Brinkley, comes here with a mean video, and then he says it a vid of his own personal Boxster race car. Its a sweet video. He wants to awe everyone. I understand... But the guy doesn't even know that the video is of a rear engined 996; and not a 987? I would think this guy, Brinkely. would kinda know if his own race car was indeed a rear engine 996 instead of a mid engine Boxster. I thank the guy for the vid. Its cool! But at what point do you choose to stop someone from telling you stupid lies straight to your face?

Are you trying to be funny? You can't be serious with your statement that this is a 911! Just like the other guy who can't tell from the video, you can't as well. If you search youtube for other posts from 01986 you will see other shots of the inside of my car. You will see the original Boxster S dash. Note: there are not oil pressure and oil temperature/alt gauges as in a 911. Just the white background "S" gauges. Look on the Rennlist race threads and note all of the Rennlisters that were at Daytona and saw the car.....
P.S. if you were attempting to be funny with sarcasm, which I think you were, I agree with you. This ain't your wife's boxster. I was only overtaken by a GT3 Cup Car, GT2, and Ferrari 355 race car during a 3 day event.

PS9 shocks/springs
Hoosier R6
Pagid Blacks
gutted down to 2560 w/o drivers
Motec M800
3.4L Boxster S Motor
Full Cage
Carbon/fiberglass body parts
Just ran Sebring on Sunday and found myself in 6th gear on the back straight, never have I needed 6th in six years of running there. Also needed 5th on Front straight, as well as leading into and out of the hairpin. It feels great but, I am having an issue were "blow by" is occuring, which pressurizes the crank case and causes oil to be pushed out of the engine and into my oil catch can. Now a little oil may be expected, but I can only run for 20 min. and my 1 1/2 qrt catch can is full! Anyone have some thoughts, I'm thinking a bad oil or compression ring, or cracked cylinder sleeve. Engine is a Porsche Cert Remanufacture.

It's hard to tell from vid, what kind of times were you running? Is it the 987S motor or 996 3.4? Thanks.

more info and pics please
. this car sounds like the old mike lansky boxster. (pic attached below). how does it do on the banking.... any oil starvation/low pressure problems?
btw, have you seen the boxster in the scca runoffs? it placed in the top 10 in gt2 class.... dicing it up with gt3 cups and tube framed race cars.

Mine is not as wide at Mike's old car. Here is a pic of it on the dyno as we worked on the Motec system. I've already given most of the stats in the earlier post.

what kind of power are you getting with the motec? any exhaust mods? maybe it's the angle in the pic but your wing looks inverted.
