Default Repeated blown 7.7 ohm fuse

I have a new 987S which has the TPMS. When I recently attempted to put air with the Porsche supplied pump I blew a 7.5 ohm fuse. After replacing with a new fuse of the same resistance I again attempted to operate the pump and again the fuse blew. I ruled out the pump by using another from other Porsche. Any advice is welcome. I will take this to the dealer but in the interim input is sought. TIA

are you plugging it in the cigarette lighter or the 12v plug ? you have to use the lighter or else you will blow fuses .

its designed for the cigar lighter not the power point. and its amps not ohms
are you starting the pump before itws on the valve stem?

What's the difference between the cig lighter and the power outlet? Always assumed they were the same electrically.

Thx Brad.

Besides the pump, anything else that should be relegated to the lighter or power outlet?

Radar detector
GPS
Cell charger
Battery charger/maintainer - I run this through the lighter.

no not really
radar detector should be about 2 amps
gps 2 amps
cell charger 2-3 amps
the charger rating would be on the charger
