Default Noise.

I have a question to see if there are more people with this problem.
On having plundered a pot-hole with the Cayman S to speed normal/alta a small klank sounds on the back part. Is the well-read one something on this problem in other forums but I have never seen solutions has someone more this noise?
Regards

Your transmission has been sent to B Section for decoding and analysis.

Default Noise after encountering a pothole can be one of several things...

Unless you're car savvy best get car to place that can get car in air (safely, naturally) and give the car's underneath a good inspection.

The hit could have broken anti-roll bar tie, exhaust heat shield, exhaust system bracket, brake hose bracket, any of the body under panels and so on.

Also, you'll want to verify tire/wheel are undamaged and alignment correct.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Several possibilities.

1. The vibration damper in the hatch can "clunk" over certain bumps. There is no known fix available from Porsche, although there is a procedure at the caymanclub forum that has been successful for some.

2. The privacy screen can rattle, as its bottom comes in contact with the oil/water filler lid. The fix is to either take it out, or put some small foam pads on it.

3. The 3rd Brake Light has been known to rattle. There is a gasket that slides out of place. This is an easy dealer fix.
