Default JRisers's Aircooled Cayman S

J Riser is rumored to be considering an a/c 3.6 / 3.8 conversion of the Crock S. PMO carbs will eliminate harness nightmares and weight reduction from water loss is significant. How about it joel?

Default Hmmn...

Joel needs to talk to me about throwing money at a Cayman S. I wouldn't do carbs, tho, unless this is some exercise in automotive nostaliga...

I wonder how much weight air cooling would really save? It looks to me like the radiators and pipes are fairly light. I can see how the block would have more material, but it is aluminum. I'm guessing the coolant itself would be the heaviest part of the system. Has anyone done any calculations on this, maybe back when the 996 first appeared?

Ah yea there's a great idea......

If he does that he'll have people lined up for years to come.

Maybe he could add torsion bars too, sign me up.
