Default Brake PAd Upgrade Question

Hello,

i drive a 2006 987s and my dealer says its time to replace all pads. 40,000km

now i dont track the car but wouldn't mind some extra performance. Plus dealer here is charging $1500 dollars for oem pads, which gives me more of a reason to look at after market pads.

The only question i have is what pads would be recommended

Any recommendations?

Brembos?
Hawk ?
Pagid?
PFC?
Ferodo?
Porterfield?
Powerstop?
SP Performance?

and what pads do the 2006 987s uses?

Amirarmad, are those dollars american? List price for front pads is $156.34 for fronts and $111.34 for rears. Seems a tad high for just a pad replacement even if it includes a happy ending!

i like Hawk HPS. they're about $100 per axle set. the only problem is that they don't come with the hole for the pad wear sensors; it has to be drilled. these don't make much dust, make no noise, and feel great.

BTW, OEM are usually textar or galfer. the brembo pads are usually re-badged textar.

I have a 2005 Boxster S which I Autocross once a month.

I use Porterfield Brake Pads - R-4S - High Performance Street Brake Pads - Very high friction level even at cold temperatures. Little to no dust or squeal. Great for Autocross and "Performance Street" use. Not recommended for Competition Use. - Very unnoticeable dust.

These pads and ATE Super Blue Brake fluid works real well for me.
