Where did you have the work done? I'm looking for a good independent in the area.

There is a school of thought that having a service book void of dealer stamps at the scheduled intervals will:

A) impact warranty claims
B) impact resale

I'm not espousing this view just presenting it for consideration.

I had the air grills done while in for an oil change. They had to remove the bumper cover to do this. Why I don't know. The problem is yhey scratched the fender in doing so and did a poor job of alignment of the cover. Turned into a hassle. BTW Those parts prices sound like they marked up over list.

My service guy told me the air grille campaign had to do with them fading.

The parts were high, but that dealership is the only game in town. I prefer to have dealers do major/minor services so that I kill 2 birds with 1 stone (service plus any manufacturer warranty issues). I do the in between stuff.

I'm sure they do great work, but I'm in MD. I was hoping for a response from narbeh.

That explains a lot. I was beginning to wonder.

yea sorry, I dont get on here much. i take it to my uncles shop in pasadena, they have jacks (obviously) so my cousin and i do the work ourselves, and the labor is free for me since its family. I buy the oil and filter myself, he looks up in the system what else it needs and orders it for same day delivery. its convenient for me, but nothing that would benefit others.

$568 every 20k miles isnt too bad . only go to the dealer every 20k; then either go to an independent or do your own oil changes in between . i wouldnt shy away from the dealer entirely ( thats why i say go every 2yrs/20k for the recommended svcs) because you may have a hassle if you have a warranty related problem along the line .

Guys what's involved in the 20K service, does anybody have a detailed list of parts/items that are changed, inspected, etc.?

Thanks!
