Warning just came on the other day for low coolant. CS has 40k on it. I ended up having to add 2 quarts.

Besides a bad water pump can the head gaskets be inspected easily by a dealer without removing the heads or dropping the motor? I would like to get them to inspect them.

Could also be a cracked coolant expansion tank. Both of our Boxsters suffered this - wife's at 30K miles, mine at 105K miles. It can fail catastrophically, like hers, or relatively benignly (leaks). It costs a lot (for what it is) to replace... I think it was nearly $2K.
