Default Wait for an 08?

I really want a Boxster S. Had 2 previous Porsches a 2001 C2 and a 2004 GT3. Sold them, and am itching for a Boxster, was going to get one, then started seeing spy shots of the facelifted 08, and rumjours of even potentially more power because of the direct injection technology used on the new Cayenne. I guess I should wait a bit. Or not?

if your hot for one get it now ! the facelift will be minor and there will be no direct injection for '08 . you can probably get a great deal on an '07 .

Dubai911: I want a new Boxster S, too. DFI is probably worth the wait - look what it did for the Cayenne. The DFI cat is out of the bag. Contrary to popular belief, Porsche sells cars to make money, and it is able to push forward with this technology, now. IMV, there is more long-term risk to car sales by holding-off (for no good reason) on DFI, than by making changes a little sooner than "normal." Porsche sales are down this year, inventories are high (great deals on '07s), and sales won't improve next year by selling the same-old, same-old. My bet: DFI in '08. It makes economic sense to me. But then again, I don't make cars for a living.

You could be right but Porsche has become quite adept at adjusting their manufacturing output to reflect market conditions. Moreover, at least in my area all car Dealers are hurting. There are three BMW Dealers near me and they all have new '06 BMWs on their lots which they are struggling to sell regardless of the discounts they are offering.

I will wait, it is a big investment for me and no need to rush it.
