The real kicker is DFI also increases fuel economy since it gives more precise and efficient control of combustion. The new BMWs aren't just faster, they average about 4 mpg better than the previous generation on the highway.

my RS4 audi has DFI and the gas pedal seems waaay quicker to work its magic then on the 986/987 996's and 05-06 997's I've driven- so hopefully porsche brings it all on board asap.

Porsche seems to be rolling it out now. I think the new Cayenne has it now, doesn't it?
