Alois Ruf installed a supercharger on the 3.4 engine, along with adjustable shocks, Ruf brakes and wheels, and their aerodynamic body pieces. It puts out around 400 PS.

Lovely cars. I like the blue calipers on the RUF. I wonder if this RUF is the same one a co-worker of mine mentioned to me a while back. I'll have to ask him on the color.

Dan, can you say if you know how much roughly it cost? Also what are the driving impressions with the Kompressor engine?

TIA

I haven't gotten around to asking Joe what it cost him. So far, he's been pretty happy with the horsepower.

It's been at Pfaffinghausen since June 2006.

Nice color! Is it a standard Pcar color or a custom job?

It's a color Joe had Ruf mix up for him. they're now calling it "Azurro Santa Barbara." The car was originally produced in Carrara white by Zuffenhausen and the Ruf guys disassembled the car and painted it this metallic blue. (Joe found out how hard a custom color was from Zuffenhausen with my order so he chose to have Ruf do it instead).

If I wanted to paint to sample this color, how could I get more info on the color to provide to Porsche?
I am seeing my Boxster S with a cocoa interior and a cocoa roof and this color on the outside. Yummy!!!!!!

Perhaps Joe can help you out at Dr.Joe@verizon.net

He dubbed it "Azzurro Santa Barbara" (we're in Santa Barbara) and had Alois Ruf mix it up for him. It's similar to an early 1980s metallic blue as well,--take a look through the archives, e.g., www.Paintscratch.com

Joe told me that retail on the car would be (with the Cayman S included) about $140,000.

Wow, amazing car, but that is huge $$$ for a Cayman.

I cant help but think I'd definately own a GT3 RS for that price instead.
