Default Lowering a Cayman S with PASM?

Picked up a Cayman S tonight with PASM. What are the options for lowering a car with PASM?

There are I believe several options: H&R springs, linear rate, Sportec has similar springs and TechArt springs, which all lower it at different rates. I personally like the TechArt specs on paper as it lowers it the least and still keeps a 20 mm difference between front and rear.

We've had very good experience with Techart springs for PASM. Our own Cayman X-51 3.8 is currently running Bilstein PSS9 coilover's for PASM which is another albeit more expensive alternative. The TA option will lower the car approx. 1" while the PSS9's offer infinite ride height adjustment. The TA's are made by Eibach but to TA specs. The are slightly longer than the same setup from H&R so if you are after a lower more aggressive stance (too low if you ask me) then H&R gets the nod. RUF is another option, very high quality, not as low as H&R but top dollar as are the TA's.

Thanks guys!

Don't want to go too low but would like to lower it about an 1-1.5 or so inches. Sounds like the Techart would be the way to go.

So it would be a matter of just changing the springs then?

Jordan,

That X51 3.8 is sweet!

Thanks Joe....we do love that Cayman! Yes, changing the springs is all you'll need, figure 6-8 hours for the install and 2-3.5 for a 4 wheel alignment depending on whether you DIY, dealer or indie the install.
