I've notice that my gears started grinding when I shift from 3rd to 4th or from 5th to 4th in my base 987. If I shift slowly, I don't seem to have the problem but if I shift quickly I'll get a grind. It has happened when the trans is cold or warmed up.

Does this sound like a synchro problem? The car has a little over 19k on it.

 

i actually just had the same problem on my '05 base. (check out my other post - should be titled somethin like "very important warranty question"). 21K miles on it. sounds like we're in the same boat. i took it to the dealer yesterday. called me later on and said they think its the synchros because the linkage is fine and such. im supposed to hear more soon. ur still under warranty, take it to the dealership
