Default any Cayman problem areas emerging?

Hey guys, as a Cayman admirer and possible buyer, I'm trying to educate myself about the species. Have any problem areas started to show up? I'm not trying to put Caymen down, just learn all I can. It's still a machine no matter how you slice it? Have there been any recalls?

there have been service actions but only minor thikngs like rattles of the rear lid and hood latch bolts.
imho the caymen has been the most problem free car porsche has made since the aircooled days.
I can count on one hand how many caymens i have worked on for anything besides a rattle or an oil chnage

The most common problems are the rear hatch that "clunks", the power steering fluid that boils over at the track and the dreaded white smoke (oil inhaled into the intake). I have only had the hatch clunk in mine with 10,000KM on it and about half of them at the track.
So far,so good!

had three cayman s, totalling 50k miles.
under street use, i had absolute zero prob, not even hatch rattle.
for track use, the white smoke scared a lot of ppl.
power steering pump keeps dying.
other than that, it's one fine machine.

Since the Cayman is an evolution of the Boxster (mechanically, anyway) which has been produced for over 10 years now, I would think it would be a fairly well sorted machine.

FWIW my brother bought one of the first ones on the lot and has had zero problems. He loves it. I envy it.

4,100 miles on my wife's Cayman and no real issues other than someone forgot to program the computer to operate the interior lights properly and a little annoying buzzy rattle coming from the rear hatch area. It was fixed once about two months ago and now it's back. Also there's something in the driver's side door that rattles in unison with bass notes coming from the door speaker when the stereo is on.

All of those items are minor, as far as I'm concerned.

Default additional problems

prev. owner had cats replaced @ low mileage...I just had master cylinder replaced @ 5k mi...lots of owners are reporting hard shifting issues related to clutch hydraulic defects and incorrectly torqued pressure plate bolts.

Just the hatch clunk on mine.. Seemingly fixed but comes back on baaad bumps.

Just ticked over 5500 miles. Something cool happened, my fuel economy went up drastically. I've seen this in other cars before but nothing like this. The first couple of tanks were about 14-16mpg (not crazy hard driving). Then from 500 to 4500 miles I averaged 16-18 mixed. Suddenly (well also did an oil change to elf excellium) I'm getting 22 mixed (25mpg hwy!).

Who cares? It is a depreciating asset. I don't buy cars to make money (I do other things to make $$ so I can buy cars )...I have bought all my Porsches to drive and enjoy not to sit in the garage and watch some type of slow appreciation. When I want appreciation there are stocks and other much better investments.

Sorry to ruin your fun but your comments don't **** me off. In the basic sense of the matter, yes the Cayman is a Boxster with a hard top for more money (not $10k more though). So what? I wanted a new daily driver and I didn't want a drop top as a daily driver (already owned a Boxster). I was tired of my 996 and the Cayman offered me what I wanted in car at the price I could justify spending.

Superiority complex for owning a car? Sorry no. If anyone has superiority complex from either owning a car (any car) or gets a car to further the complex then they should seek professional help.

The truth of matter, intentional or not, you are the one who comes across as having the superiority complex with your incessant comments about the depreciation of the Cayman.
