New Cayman-S owner...
We took delivery of the 2007 S yesterday. It's suprisingly a nice car. I'll not be giving up the Turbo any time soon, but I have to admit the Cayman immediately makes the driver feel one with the car. As compared to the 996tt, the Cayman clutch and shifting is smooth as silk and effortless. The car feels perfectly balanced and I felt as though everything is centered while driving thru the twisties today. Power is nice and I assume it will only get better with time.
Bothersome things are this. The front hood outer skin is quicklocked together with the inner structure, and the part of the hood on the sides that brakes down is not well finished and has some edginess to it...even some sharp edges. I would have thought Porsche could have finished it off with a cap of some sort...
The other thing is, the manual says nothing about oil changes within the 2000 mile break-in period; only that the oil should be changed at 20k miles. Seems like it should be done sooner to me.
At any rate...it's a sweet little ride.

Can't say as if I blame her.

I'd agree, I had it changed at 2K mi., then 5K and every 5K since then. I also had the trans. oil changed at 10K and will again at 30K. May be its over doing it, but it certainly won't hurt.
