I just jumpstarted a friend's Cayman with a dead battery (she is used to automatic lights and left them on overnight ) and now the remote locking won't work with either key. The car is less than a month old, so the batteries in the remotes are fine. I've tried several remedies I've found in threads here and on Renntech.org and nothing works. Any ideas, or does she need to visit the dealer?

Read the manual.

It may be it went into sleep mode and you have to reactivate the key.

 

try locking and unlocking with the key manualy, if that doesnt work take it in could have purged the key memeory when the battery died, control units flip out when they are under voltage
