Actually Porsche had a yellow one in Hockenheim the other weekend and they had two painted wheels (yellow) on one side and two normal silver wheels on the other.

The yellow wheels ruined the look of the car and It made me wonder how much of the cars looks are dependent on the wheels.

I saw a 997 in that baby blue at my local Porsche dealer and was told that's "Mexican Blue." It is the Gulf Oil blue...

The orange looks like the orange from the Gulf racing color scheme -- which is the history behind it these two colors and is why people love them, see: http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk/gulflm.html . Asking for the Gulf Blue or Gulf Orange would probably be enough info for a custom paint order.

Can't help on the green one though I believe I've seen it on a 911, so a helpful salesperson could probably pin that one down, too.

None of them are real colours, they are just approximations worked up in Photoshop. The blue is supposed to be Riviera Blue (as from the old 968 CS) but like I said, it's just an approximation.

There are various other colours on the CaymanClub site, which one of the contributors did so that folks could see what the car might look like with a custom paint colour order, as Porsche's current colour offerings are seriously dull.

compared to? BMW's are even duller and fewer, as are Chevy's; Nipponese cars come in fewer colors and are more often in bad taste. Lamborghini has some odd colors, mostly flashy and garish, befitting the clientele. In America we don't have access to BMW individual, so we are really stuck. Porsche charges a lot for it, but is the only somewhat mainstream car company I can think of that offers custom paint and leather. I'm probably overlooking another manufacturer that does it so now I'll sit back and wait for the other shoe to drop...

I agree. But, I am biased.
