Default 987 exhaust

I followed my wife as she drove the 987S today, while I was drivng the C4S with PSE. I hate to admit it, guys, but our 987S exhaust sounds wimpy. It's got a great transition sound at WOT when you're inside driving, but at idle or from the outside, it leaves something to be desired. There have been several threads here about exhausts, but mostly about how some exhausts sound in other cars.

Has anyone tried and liked an aftermarket exhaust on the 987? Links?

Mooty, you drive that car so fast that you are long gone by the time we hear the exhaust! Like thunder following lightning. I was talking about us mere mortals .

I just stopped by the Fabspeed shop to see what they are doing, and they had a 986 on the lift putting a new header/cat/exhaust on it. The system is really a work of art, and I hope to stop back to hear it run. I may just change my mind and get one if it sounds as good as it looks, and isn't priced in the stratosphere.

They ran a baseline on it, and will run it again today or tomorrow after the system is on. It will be interesting to see how much power it makes. Looking at the stock exhaust on the floor, it appears that there is a lot to be gained.

Compared to a C4S with PSE, just about everything sounds wimpy (except maybe a nice Ferarri V12 or 427FE tucked inside a Shelby Cobra).

All in all, I am reasonably satisfied with the exhaust note of the OEM system on the 987. I do enjoy the C2/4S note stock as well, but haven't really heard it w/ PSE. I'm sure it sounds just as buttery and melodic. From what I've read and seen published, there is no point (outside of changing the tone) in mucking with the exhaust system as it unleashes very few ponies, and in some cases, causes a negative effect (according to some).

I agree with Palting.
Exhaust sounds great inside the car. Exterior is really wimpy.
I'd like an exhaust, but I really see a 911 in my future before any mods to my Boxster S.
Just can't fit comfortably in this car.
