Unhappy IPOD help

I am looking for help in using my IPOD with the 987 radio. I have been told that it does not have aux imputs. Is this so? Does anyone know of an adapter so that I can use a USB or similar connector? I do not want to use the antenna solution and the FM modulator is poor at best.

We have a large group buy underway for the newest from Dension to enable iPod control/use through the Porsche MOST bus system.

If interested, email me your name/model/year/nav/cd/bose info, and I'll keep you posted.

eric what's the news on this group buy? I know these folks have been testing out the unit, but it looks like someone has beaten them to the market (Nav-TV?) Can you offer any updates?

Thx

Matt

If you read about that 'other' unit, you will read that it is full of bugs, and should never have been released to market.

The Dension unit is in round 4 of testing as of early last week, and is installed in 4 different Porsche vehicles. So far, so good. No firm information as yet, but expected next week.

Thanks.

I've only read a few postings last week from Rennteam (or some other Renn*** page, who knows). I didn't read much, if anything, about the bugs that were being encountered. As a matter of fact, I've only read one guy's posting about one particular installation, and he seemed to have nothing but positive things to say about his installation. Now, I'm assuming like the rest of us, after spending $1000 on an ipod connection, he's going to be extremely tolerant of any added "unexpected features" he might encounter.

Would you be so kind as to post a link to some of the threads where these folks are encountering problems? I'm more curious than anything. As was mentioned on another board - "I thought going to a MOST system was supposed to encourage synergy between car manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers" meaning the standard was supposed to make things ... easier. Seems like it has been doing nothing but providing a relatively high barrier to entry into this market segment.

Thanks,

Matt

Cool

Hi,

I have a Porsche 987S with PCM, and also want it to hook up to my iPod.

I did find this link http://www.al-eds.com/?http://www.al...em=IPODPORSCHE

but the item is only based in the USA and costs $799 dollars which even when you take into considerationthe British exchange rate, it still seams steep.

If anyone knows of a solution to link the PCM to the iPod based here in the U.K. I would be very interested. Please help?

Thanks

Michael
