I'm really impressed with the driving characteristics of the boxster.
Though at highway speeds I do feel more kidney bounce than the 911

To me, the 986 is considerably softer with the front end underdamped and bobbing around too much. Maybe this is some of the tuning. Stiffer shocks but higher profile tires?

i prefer a silencer on mine so i dont have to lift going up laguna seca.

What's curious is that the 996 is comparatively lighter in the front yet the shocks are stiffer than the 986. Go figure. Maybe it's because the CG is much further behind exaggerating the motion?
