Default What wax to use STRESS !!!

Having been hampered by “what wax to use stress” I finally decided to use Meguiar’s NXT Generation liquid. Zaino has too many steps for me and report’s that Rejex doesn’t hide fine swirls led me to this decision.

The stress was magnified by my black paint showing every little swirl and imperfection. I really thought I was screwed as my paint looked like BUTT. However, Meguiar’s NXT is awesome and I couldn’t be more pleased. I know I won’t win over any Zaino / Rejex people but that is not my intention. I just thought I’d give others another alternative. Plus the board has been a little dead lately.

I did save my front bumper for a planned Rejex test.

I probably have to get my butt in gear and wax my car as well, but I have been holding off as long as possible. I'd be interested in your comparison, seeing how my car is black too.

I really like the NXT, and if you use a paint cleaner before hand (meguiar's colorX, for example) it really comes out nice on black!

Thanks for the report on the NXT.
There are lots of overpriced products out there.
My guess is that you'll notice no difference between the NXT and the Rejex. Please keep us updated.

type987s - did you use a clay bar before you undertook the task of waxing?

I'm due for my seasonal wax. Dark Blue (Midnight Blue) is just about as "bad" as black to maintain, I'll try the nxt stuff, thanks for the recommendation.

Curious about the NXT. I currently use P21S on my Atlas Grey 987S and the results are awesome but since it's the only one I've used I can't make too many comparisons.

I like just about any carnuba type wax they all seem to work the same and they wipe off easy. try using a product called "Super Glaze" from The Wax Shop after you wax or inbetween waxes you will never see a swirl in the paint after you wiper it off. Also try to find a cloth from 3m usually yellow in color to wipe the waxes any detail shop will know what you are talking about hope that helps

Claying a car is not difficult at all, just keep it well lubed with quick detailer and you'll be fine. I always use microfiber towels to take the polish/wax off, they prevent swirls. Remember that the wax is the sealant, and if you really want to remove the swirls you need to polish them out before you wax, otherwise the wax is just filling in the swirls and hiding them. Good luck!

clay is easy, zero effort. use a LOT of lubricant. the more you use (lubricant) the less likely you will hurt car. fold the clay often so you dont use the old parts.

3m impreial hand glaze followed by p21s cleanser followed by p21 wax

or instead of p21s wax, use one grand blitz wax (not as shiny as p21s, but last longer)

NXT is great as well.

i dont like zaino or rejex. they have an artificial saran wrap type of shine. not saying they are bad products, i just dont like them as much.

Like zymol carbon for my red garage queen...have used 1 grand too with results.

No worries with claying as mentioned. I used the griots clay pad to make it easier.
