Ira Porsche also has a great inventory of Caymans that we would be happy to sell... Give me a call or PM if you are interested.

I've tried many many cars this month, subscribed to many many forums, read many many articles.
At last, I got confused, and said to myself, the only car that I "loved" was the cayman s.

Well, it takes a willing gougee to be gouged! Unfortunately, most CA buyers are too rich, too lazy, or too ignorant to shop for a deal -- on a car or otherwise.

One can save thousands just by making a few phone calls and being adventurous. Fly out and drive back!

How often do you get to take a one-way road trip in a brand new Porsche and end up at home?

I bought the first Cayman off the Ira Porsche (Massachusetts) lot back in February (President's Day weekend) and got a great deal. Alfie posted a message from Ira above, so I imagine they are still willing to give a good price. I dealt with Chris Husband, who was great, but they are all pretty good guys there.

Yeah, I lived there a while back, it wasn't the best place to get a deal. But now I live near Microsoft and its much worse than the Bay Area; too many MS millionaires to compete with!

murat,

you are welcome!
and welcome to the porsche family.
you will have a lot of fun.
btw, if you like clearn turn signal (instead of factory yellow) ask gary for a pair. he will give them to you for free, tell him i said so.

they pop right in, he can do it for you right there. he usually will let you keep the oem yellow turn signals so now you will have to sets.

Cayman is the car I liked at first, so I joined this forum. However, later I decided I wanted a convertible. I hadn't even considered a boxster in the first place, but after seeing it in all black with the red brakes, and the top down...mmmmm
fell in love.
Don't get me wrong. I still love the cayman as well. I just wanted a convertible.

Actually, would a Boxster S with a factory hard top provide similar driving dynamics as a Cayman S? If they are within 90% of each other, then it is worth considering as it will be cheaper than a Cayman S, and I'd still have the possibility of a drop top.

The Cayman S still wins when it comes to luggage space. Can't win them all I guess.

avg price of box S is 58, i can get similar discount on both cars. hardtop is 3-4k. so box S isn't much chepaer than cayman. cayman does have more power if you push the car hard, you will be able to tell that cayman is stiffer and faster.

Default Some initial questions on the new Boxster S

1. Are the P N D buttons on the tiptronic shift not lighted? I can't see the position of the gear unless i look at the gauge in front. Is that the design intent or my lights on the shift area aren't working?
2. Is there a warm up period for the engine? as in BMW's, i.e don't drive past 5000rpm the first 1000km's or something like that?
