Any news on when the "base"(non S version) model will be out? Summer, fall???

The internet rumors say as a 2007 model. It will be interesting to see how it is positioned and with what engine.

Someone posted that he heard that it will have a 2.9-liter engine. I've seen no confirmation of this, however.

I think I read something about a 2.9 or 3.0 somewhere also. Porsche should just put the 3.4 from the Cayman S in the Boxster S to simplify things and also have the base models of both cars with a 3.0 with around 250-260hp. But I guess they want to keep hammering on the seperate model line theme and have 4 different engine sizes instead of two. Either way...I hope the base model Cayman comes out this year or more info is released.

The engine size and power will be determined by countless focus groups and snot-nosed MBAs.

unfortunately you are right. maybe we should go work for PAG, then we can keep the shape of 993 and stuff them with GT3 motors for say $50k!

haha - I have an MBA too, so I figured I could say that Keep the same prices on the new cars as far as I'm concerned - just bring back the quality.
