This is my wife and I going to Parade several years ago in our Spyder. The trailer hitch is complexly hidden behind the rear license plate when not in use. Have the plate on a custom flip up hinged bracket to expose the female portion of the receiver hitch. Slide in the male portion and it has a key that as you turn it pins come out to lock the hitch in. On either side, also hidden by the plate when not in use are screw holes to screw in standard PORSCHE tow hooks to attach the safety chains. Wiring was done by my dealer. Trailer is all alum and tows like a dream. I still get over 27 MPG when towing at 70 +

Most track junkies use a Harbor Freight trailer as tire trailers.
They are about $200.00

Kind of a mixture of parts I got from different sources. Wiring was done by the master tech at the local dealership. I will try and get part numbers for you in the next day or so if interested.

Hi! I'm looking for a similar trailer for my Boxster. Where did you find that one? What are the specs/model? Thanks!

Default Boxster tow hitch

I wonder if you can bolt a hitch ball to the one tow hook to pull a trailer.

Interesting - wonder why not? If it is strong enough to tow the car.... torsionally and tongue weight probably not enough.

Check out Willwood System. Their kit replaces the bumper mounting brackets which are design to collapse during a collision. I understand a heat deflector is needed or you melt the trailer wiring connection.

Can you get some pics on how you did it? I've been looking at my back end trying to figure out how to put small hitch for a bike rack and hide it behind the plate. Thanks

I did this on my 981 with some help from GuruRack in Florida. He has a truck mechanism that drops the plate straight down so it's visible from below, although it requires some more cutting than the wildwood kit.

Anyone know where you can still find these? Looking for trailer hitch to install on 2007 Cayman S. To my understanding many of the fabricators have quit making them.
