Default help with 19"

if you have 19" wheels that came with the car AND you dont have TPMS, please take a look at your valve stem. is it metal or rubber/plastic. i am not talking about the cap, but the actual valve stem.

TIA

non TPMS 19" Porsche wheels are coming with rubber valves. I just went to Porsche to get valves, and they had rubber pieces at $5 ea. I don't like the idea of a pressed-in tire valve on a car that hits triple digit speeds at the track.

I've the TPMS bolted valves without the sensors. Safest way to go.

so the sensors are in the valve stems right?
i ask b/c my track cayman has TPMS (came with it, i didn't order it that way).
now i have fikse on the car, and TPMS is going nuts.
so it's conceivable that i go get some OEM stems with TPMS sensor and bolt those onto fikse then i am set?

though as i leave track to get home, the low pressure for track use will still get TPMS nuts. technolgy go figure.

I went through this last week with DrBill at 6speed. The metallic valve stems have treaded ends, the sensors are bolted to that end with a small torx screw.

Depending on the valve position on your Fikse, you might or might not be able to install the stock metal valves and sensor assembly. Sensors at $125 per corner.

You can get straps from WheelEnhancement to hold the sensors on the Fikse wheels, if the valve angle doesn't allow the sensor to fit on your wheels.

as of now, no dealer knows how to deactivate the tpms.

The airbag light will require somebody to find out the resistor capacity, so a 50 cents resistor will fool the ECU thinking the side airbags are connected.

You have quite a christmas tree on that dashboard.

you have no idea. as i pull into hot pit, air bag lights on, tpms light glowing, turn off PSM and another bulb flars up....

maybe instead of killing the airbag and tpms lights, i should get all the lights to turn ON
