In one issue of Excellence a few years ago, there was an article about one PCA member who had won a few concours events in his GR 944, and then finally sold it and bought a Boxster, in Blue Turquoise.

He explained in detail how to properly prepare a car for a Concours events, and how to maintain a factory fresh look in your car while using it as a daily driver. The two things he said tha always stuck with me is that he said, work alone (this way you cannot blame anyone else), and only work 1 hour a day on the car (have a cover over the car, and only expose the one part of the car which you are working on for that 1 hour), this avoids fatigue and sloppy work.

He went on to win a few events in his Blue Turquoise Boxster.

[QUOTE=pcar928fan;5646779]I am pretty sure it is NOT Mexico blue...

Here are some pics for you.

The 968 cab is Riviera Blue
The 928 is Arrow Blue (also for some years Royal blue)
997GT3 is Riviera blue
997GT2 is Mexico blue

I thought Mexico Blue was much brighter than what that 997GT2 is. Whatever color that GT2 is, I LOVE IT.

I am not sure all of the pictures were properly labeled when I got them... Some may have been listed wrong. I have a picture of a 997TT that is Oslo blue (or at least that is what the person posting the pic of it said)...very interesting. Never even heard of that color before.

There is no GT2 pictured.

(Recall, a GT2 is turbocharged and there would be ductwork on the rear quarterpanel).

The most common of those blues is Mexico blue,--it's a lot lighter than everything else.

Here's Turquoise Blue again. It is a bit darker than Riviera Blue.

Default Ok..

GT2 or not (I think its just a 997 turbo), what color is this? Too dark to be Mexico, right?

I think that was the one I thought I had added to the pics I posted and in another post on the 997 Turbo thread it was listed as Oslo blue IIRC...

Dan, I REALLY like your car! That is a BEAUTIFUL color...I like it better than Riviera. As noted it is a bit darker and I like that. I think Maritime and Arrow are both a touch darker still IIRC...even better... Note the color of my race car! It is built on an '80 Euro S chassis so I picked Arrow blue (a stock 928 color in '80).

Edit: Dan I looked back at the pics I had previously posted... They are listed the way I saw them on another list w/ the exception of the GT2 (and yes, it is either a kitted TT or a GT2 997). The top car was the 968 in Riv, then the 928 in Arrow, then the GT3 in Riv, and the GT2 (or TT w/ a kit) in what I now think is Oslo not Mexico blue, and the last one was the Boxster that you guys say is Turquoise.

Hope that clears things up a bit anyway, instead of just muddying the waters. Regardless the middle blues that are close to Royal blue are VERY NICE COLORS on just about ANY car! Heck even that Toyota SUV looks good in that color w/ the white top!

Thanks James. I've never seen or heard of Oslo Blue before, but it is fantastic.

Oslo Blue is a Porsche color from way back,--perhaps the 1960s. It's nice to see another solid blue ordered.

For reference, here's an Oslo Blue 356...
